End-of-Year Reflections on a 2025 That Changed Me Forever

As this year comes to an end, I find myself looking back on months that felt heavier than any I had ever known. 2025 has been a year marked by grief, overwhelm, and a kind of exhaustion that lives not only in the body, but in the heart. There are moments that changed me forever, and even now, everything good that happens seems to pass through a quiet shadow. Life continued, but not in the same way. It feels like another world, yet it is still this one.

Through all of this, the only things that held me gently were art itself and the love for my little girl. Drawing became a way to breathe when the rest of life felt too still or too loud. Even the smallest moments of creation were a reminder that something inside me could still move, still feel, still whisper.

There were rare moments of light too, moments that arrived quietly but allowed me to lift my head for a second. The recognitions I received this year — unexpected, delicate, almost shy in their arrival — reminded me that even in loss, something meaningful can continue to grow. They didn’t erase the sadness, but they offered breath where the air felt thin.

As I share this reflection, my intention is not to invite pity. I want only to acknowledge that behind every artwork, every post, every step forward, there is a real life lived — with beauty, with effort, with pain, with hope. We all carry stories that exist beyond what we show, and I believe there is strength in recognising that truth.

As I look toward the new year, I wish for moments of joy and peace, not only for myself but also for you. If you are facing your own challenges, I hope you can hold onto the quiet truth that we, as human beings, can endure far more than we ever imagine. May the coming year bring you strength, softness, and the space to keep moving toward what matters to you. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for walking gently with me.
