Soffermati – Framed Canvas

The most compelling stories are often the ones left unfinished.

Selected for the Derwent Art Prize and exhibited at OXO Gallery in London, Soffermati is part of a group exhibition chosen from over 5,000 applications.

The work borrows from the visual language of fashion photography, presenting a precise moment within a story whose beginning and end remain unknown. Its composition holds a deliberate ambiguity, leaving space for personal interpretation rather than offering a fixed narrative. Executed on canvas, the rough surface softens the precision of the pencil, preventing extreme realism and creating the feeling of a suspended image, almost like an old photograph.

Printed using giclée techniques on artist-grade cotton canvas (400gsm), selected for its textured surface and ability to preserve the detail and tonal depth of the original drawing. The canvas is mounted within a slim black wooden frame, positioned slightly away from the edge to create a subtle floating border.
